Hi, My name is Elizabeth Mathieson and I like long walks on the beach... I'm kidding... but not really. I'm a wedding photographer currently juggling life between pursuing my love for photography and studying to become an MRI tech. When I'm not behind the camera or buried in textbooks, I love getting lost in a good book (romance is my favorite) or soaking up the sun at the beach with my sweet boyfriend, Nick, and our two puppies, Bentley and Chloe.
Here are some rapid fire fun facts about me!!
1. I am a chai tea gal, it will always be my go-to!
2. I love to travel, I feel like I bring home a piece of the culture everywhere I go!
3. If One Direction goes back on tour that will be my Eras tour and I will do ANYTHING for floor seats!
4. My nickname in the summer is Lobster Liz because I burn like no other!
5. If you need me.. you can find me at the cake table.
Photography has always been something I have been interested in, I have bought and sold 3 different cameras because I gave up on my hobbies and pursued other things (shoutout to COVID for that one). It wasn't until a very sweet friend of mine poured into me and gave me the resources and creative space that I allowed myself to explore pursuing photography. It has quickly become my safe space and what I look forward to. I want to spend the rest of my life capturing the sweet little moments in life. Life is to short to not fawn over the little things.
Rediscovering my faith has been a journey of healing and growth for me. Growing up, I had a disconnect with church that left a sour taste in my mouth, but lately, I've felt drawn to explore it again. With the support of some wonderful friends, I've found a safe space to ask questions, share doubts, and rediscover what spirituality means to me. It's been a process of uncovering old wounds and opening myself up to rediscovering what my faith means to me, finding solace and strength in the community and teachings that once seemed distant. Through this journey, I'm learning to embrace faith not as a set of rules or obligations, but as a source of comfort, guidance, and connection with something greater than myself.
I have a phenomenal list of photographers that are organized by price, editing style and specialty that I will send you if that date you are wanting to book is taken. All of these photographers are people I would trust to shoot my own wedding. I will only lay you in the best hands!
Unfortunately my job is at the mercy of the weather. NOW in saying that we will always work around it. If it rains, we can choose to dance in it or we can reschedule to a time that works best for you! If weather impacts a wedding don't worry, I come equipped with gear to brave the weather. We will make any session the best session!
My rule of thumb is if it wont be gone in 10 days I will not make any appearance altering changes. Now stains, makeup oopsies, photobombers, fly away hair and things of that nature I absolutely will. My goal is to help you feel comfortable in your own skin, not pick apart the things you wish to change about yourself. If you ever have any questions please feel free to reach out and we can chat :)
For weddings you will receive a sneak peek gallery 24-48 hours post wedding (unless it is destination, then it is 24-48 hours post my arrival back home). For final gallery delivery I say no more than 4-6 weeks. I tend to not take that long but I want to give myself room because I am human and things do happen. I don't want to make any promises that I can't keep!
No!! I do require a 25% deposit at time of booking but I understand how expensive weddings are so I offer customized payment plans that work with your schedule. If you decide later on to upgrade a package or purchase add ons those can be paid for in the final payments I do not require them to be paid if you decide to add them on, on a random Tuesday! All I require is that the wedding or session is paid IN FULL one month out from the session/wedding date! This ensures that everything is squared away come wedding day!
